# Verizon Protect vs MyDeWitt

The clearest difference is update cadence: Verizon Protect at every 3 weeks against MyDeWitt's every 4 months. Verizon Protect also leads on ratings volume (45K vs 1) and chart position (#174 vs unranked). MyDeWitt's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MyDeWitt holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Verizon Protect has 45K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Verizon Protect ships an update every 3 weeks, MyDeWitt every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
