# Horticulture Magazine vs Fermentation

The clearest difference is rating: Fermentation at 5.0 against Horticulture Magazine's 4.2. Horticulture Magazine's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 23 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Horticulture Magazine sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Fermentation sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fermentation holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Horticulture Magazine has 15 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 0% and 0% positive.

Horticulture Magazine ships an update every 4 months, Fermentation every 23 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
