# Screen Recorder vs Screen Recorder Pro⋆

The clearest difference is monetization model: Screen Recorder at free with in-app purchases against Screen Recorder Pro⋆'s subscription. Screen Recorder also leads on ads (none vs shown). Screen Recorder Pro⋆'s advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Recorder sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Screen Recorder Pro⋆ sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen Recorder Pro⋆ holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 11K and 23K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Screen Recorder's written reviews are positive against 32% of Screen Recorder Pro⋆'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
