# Encore MGR vs QuickBooks Desktop

The clearest difference is rating: Encore MGR at 4.7 against QuickBooks Desktop's 1.9. Encore MGR also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and device support (3 vs 1). QuickBooks Desktop's advantage is ratings volume (120 vs 7). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Encore MGR holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QuickBooks Desktop has 120 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Encore MGR's written reviews are positive against 5% of QuickBooks Desktop's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
