# TOR Browser Private + VPN vs Bluetooth Scanner

TOR Browser Private + VPN and Bluetooth Scanner both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 32% of TOR Browser Private + VPN's written reviews are positive against 0% of Bluetooth Scanner's. TOR Browser Private + VPN also leads on ratings volume (2.3K vs 309). Bluetooth Scanner's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TOR Browser Private + VPN sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Bluetooth Scanner sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bluetooth Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TOR Browser Private + VPN has 2.3K ratings behind it against 309, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of TOR Browser Private + VPN's written reviews are positive against 0% of Bluetooth Scanner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TOR Browser Private + VPN ships an update every 2 months, Bluetooth Scanner fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
