# Scan n Gen vs KRDPass

The clearest difference is rating: KRDPass at 4.3 against Scan n Gen's 3.4. KRDPass also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (417 vs 5). Scan n Gen's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 72%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

KRDPass holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KRDPass has 417 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Scan n Gen's written reviews are positive against 72% of KRDPass's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Scan n Gen ships an update every 9 months, KRDPass every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
