# a&o Hostels vs mopla

The clearest difference is rating: a&o Hostels at 4.6 against mopla's 2.3. a&o Hostels also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (109 vs 13). mopla's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (58% vs 26%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

a&o Hostels holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: a&o Hostels has 109 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of a&o Hostels's written reviews are positive against 58% of mopla's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

a&o Hostels ships an update every 9 days, mopla every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
