# Discover App vs Smart Home

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Discover App at 85% against Smart Home's 5%. Discover App also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). Smart Home's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (8K vs 4). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Home sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Discover App asks for nothing beyond the download.

Smart Home holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Home has 8K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Discover App's written reviews are positive against 5% of Smart Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Discover App ships an update every 6 weeks, Smart Home fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
