# Snow Patrol vs Gem Stack

The clearest difference is ads: Snow Patrol at none against Gem Stack's shown. Snow Patrol also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Gem Stack's advantage is ratings volume (36K vs 1K) and review sentiment (35% vs 16%). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Snow Patrol sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Gem Stack sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Snow Patrol against 4.6 for Gem Stack. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gem Stack has 36K ratings behind it against 1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 16% of Snow Patrol's written reviews are positive against 35% of Gem Stack's.

Snow Patrol ships an update every 11 days, Gem Stack weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
