# MasterLectures vs Megic

The clearest difference is monetization model: Megic at free with in-app purchases against MasterLectures's subscription. Megic also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 months). MasterLectures's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MasterLectures sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Megic sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MasterLectures ships an update every 3 months, Megic every 11 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
