# MasterLectures vs AI Bible Buddy

The clearest difference is monetization model: AI Bible Buddy at freemium against MasterLectures's subscription. AI Bible Buddy also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (14.0.0 vs 16.6). MasterLectures's advantage is review sentiment (93% vs 67%) and ratings volume (93 vs 8). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MasterLectures sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and AI Bible Buddy sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AI Bible Buddy holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MasterLectures has 93 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of MasterLectures's written reviews are positive against 67% of AI Bible Buddy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MasterLectures ships an update every 3 months, AI Bible Buddy weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
