# OVID vs Telostream

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Telostream at none against OVID's 6. Telostream also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). OVID's advantage is ratings volume (41 vs 2). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OVID sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Telostream asks for nothing beyond the download.

Telostream holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OVID has 41 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

OVID ships an update every 3 months, Telostream every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
