# ChordProg Ear Trainer vs Interval Ear Training

The clearest difference is rating: ChordProg Ear Trainer at 4.4 against Interval Ear Training's 4.0. ChordProg Ear Trainer also leads on ratings volume (16 vs 1). Interval Ear Training's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ChordProg Ear Trainer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Interval Ear Training sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ChordProg Ear Trainer holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ChordProg Ear Trainer has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of ChordProg Ear Trainer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Interval Ear Training's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ChordProg Ear Trainer ships an update every 5 days, Interval Ear Training every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
