# Raffle Name vs Random Name & Team Picker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Random Name & Team Picker at free with in-app purchases against Raffle Name's subscription. Raffle Name's advantage is ratings volume (5.6K vs 4). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Raffle Name sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year and Random Name & Team Picker sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Raffle Name against 4.8 for Random Name & Team Picker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Raffle Name has 5.6K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Raffle Name ships an update every 3 weeks, Random Name & Team Picker fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
