# Raffle Name vs Name Generator

The clearest difference is monetization model: Name Generator at freemium against Raffle Name's subscription. Raffle Name's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 34 months) and ratings volume (5.3K vs 68). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Raffle Name sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year and Name Generator sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Raffle Name holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Raffle Name has 5.3K ratings behind it against 68, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 57% of Raffle Name's written reviews are positive against 38% of Name Generator's.

Raffle Name ships an update every 3 weeks, Name Generator every 34 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
