# Sacred Message vs Operation Recon

The clearest difference is rating: Operation Recon at 3.9 against Sacred Message's 3.0. Operation Recon also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 41 months) and ratings volume (14 vs 2). Sacred Message's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Operation Recon holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Operation Recon has 14 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sacred Message ships an update every 41 months, Operation Recon every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
