# READsquared vs Tri

The clearest difference is rating: Tri at 5.0 against READsquared's 2.0. READsquared's advantage is ratings volume (16 vs 2) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tri holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: READsquared has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

READsquared ships an update every 2 months, Tri every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
