# Tessercube vs OnionShare

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tessercube at every 2 weeks against OnionShare's every 3 months. Tessercube also leads on rating (4.1 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (16 vs 5). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tessercube holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 16 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of Tessercube's written reviews are positive against 56% of OnionShare's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tessercube ships an update every 2 weeks, OnionShare every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
