# FTPL vs Gem AI

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: FTPL at none against Gem AI's 11. FTPL also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Gem AI's advantage is ratings volume (2.5K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gem AI sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. FTPL asks for nothing beyond the download.

FTPL holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gem AI has 2.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FTPL ships an update every 4 months, Gem AI every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
