# Aloha VPN vs Pandora

The clearest difference is monetization model: Pandora at free with in-app purchases against Aloha VPN's subscription. Pandora also leads on review sentiment (71% vs 55%) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 16.0). Aloha VPN's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (351 vs 44). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aloha VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Pandora sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Aloha VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aloha VPN has 351 ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Aloha VPN's written reviews are positive against 71% of Pandora's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Aloha VPN ships an update every 6 weeks, Pandora every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
