# Aloha VPN vs Image

The clearest difference is price: Aloha VPN at Free against Image's $1.99. Aloha VPN also leads on ratings volume (350 vs 1) and review sentiment (55% vs 40%). Image's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.3) and in-app purchases (none vs 10). On update cadence, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Aloha VPN is free to download; Image costs $1.99 up front. Aloha VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Image asks for nothing beyond the download.

Image holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aloha VPN has 350 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Aloha VPN's written reviews are positive against 40% of Image's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Aloha VPN ships an update every 6 weeks, Image monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
