# Retrace vs Gym Rank

The clearest difference is update cadence: Gym Rank at every 2 weeks against Retrace's every 5 months. Gym Rank also leads on ratings volume (171 vs 5). Retrace's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 84%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Retrace sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Gym Rank sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Retrace against 4.8 for Gym Rank. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gym Rank has 171 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Retrace's written reviews are positive against 84% of Gym Rank's.

Retrace ships an update every 5 months, Gym Rank every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
