# ClayLab vs Pottery Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: ClayLab at 4.6 against Pottery Tracker's 2.2. ClayLab also leads on ratings volume (358 vs 12). Pottery Tracker's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 92%) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 16.4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ClayLab sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Pottery Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ClayLab holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ClayLab has 358 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of ClayLab's written reviews are positive against 100% of Pottery Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ClayLab ships an update every 2 months, Pottery Tracker monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
