# Hörakustik vs Lucid Reader

The clearest difference is update cadence: Lucid Reader at every 3 weeks against Hörakustik's every 16 months. Hörakustik's advantage is iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hörakustik sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Lucid Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hörakustik ships an update every 16 months, Lucid Reader every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
