# Uni TV Remote vs IR

The clearest difference is rating: IR at 5.0 against Uni TV Remote's 3.8. IR also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Uni TV Remote's advantage is ratings volume (456 vs 2) and update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

IR holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Uni TV Remote has 456 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Uni TV Remote ships an update monthly, IR every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
