# VPN vs HaloVPN Pro

VPN and HaloVPN Pro both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 78% of HaloVPN Pro's written reviews are positive against 37% of VPN's. HaloVPN Pro also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). VPN's advantage is ratings volume (79K vs 18K) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and HaloVPN Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for VPN against 4.6 for HaloVPN Pro. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 79K and 18K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 37% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 78% of HaloVPN Pro's.

VPN ships an update every 2 months, HaloVPN Pro every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 19, 2026.
