# VPN vs HulaVPN Pro

VPN and HulaVPN Pro both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 77% of HulaVPN Pro's written reviews are positive against 37% of VPN's. HulaVPN Pro also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). VPN's advantage is ratings volume (79K vs 9.3K) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and HulaVPN Pro sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for VPN against 4.5 for HulaVPN Pro. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 79K ratings behind it against 9.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 37% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 77% of HulaVPN Pro's.

VPN ships an update every 2 months, HulaVPN Pro every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
