# VPN vs Scale For Grams

The clearest difference is ads: Scale For Grams at none against VPN's shown. Scale For Grams also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). VPN's advantage is ratings volume (79K vs 3) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Scale For Grams sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for VPN against 4.7 for Scale For Grams. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 79K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

VPN ships an update every 2 months, Scale For Grams every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
