# VPN vs Submos

The clearest difference is ads: Submos at none against VPN's shown. Submos also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). VPN's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Submos sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN ships an update every 2 months, Submos every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
