# VPN vs Scantivia

The clearest difference is ads: Scantivia at none against VPN's shown. Scantivia also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). VPN's advantage is ratings volume (79K vs 2) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Scantivia sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scantivia holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 79K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

VPN ships an update every 2 months, Scantivia every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
