# Solo Trip vs TimeWave

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Solo Trip at none against TimeWave's 3. Solo Trip also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 25) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). TimeWave's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and device support (4 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TimeWave sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Solo Trip asks for nothing beyond the download.

Solo Trip holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Solo Trip has 2.1K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Solo Trip's written reviews are positive against 86% of TimeWave's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solo Trip ships an update every 2 months, TimeWave every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
