# Text Capture vs Folda

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Text Capture at 42% against Folda's 0%. Text Capture also leads on update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and ratings volume (2.7K vs 85). Folda's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Capture sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Folda sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Folda holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Capture has 2.7K ratings behind it against 85, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Text Capture's written reviews are positive against 0% of Folda's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Text Capture ships an update weekly, Folda monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
