# Text Capture vs E

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: E at none against Text Capture's 1. Text Capture's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Capture sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. E asks for nothing beyond the download.

Text Capture ships an update weekly, E monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
