# OCR Scanner vs Textify

The clearest difference is update cadence: OCR Scanner at every 10 days against Textify's every 4 months. OCR Scanner also leads on review sentiment (91% vs 71%) and ratings volume (107 vs 33). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OCR Scanner sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Textify sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Textify holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 107 and 33 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of OCR Scanner's written reviews are positive against 71% of Textify's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OCR Scanner ships an update every 10 days, Textify every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
