# Itron Field Tools vs DP

The clearest difference is rating: DP at 5.0 against Itron Field Tools's 2.0. DP also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). Itron Field Tools's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 61 months) and ratings volume (49 vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DP holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Itron Field Tools has 49 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Itron Field Tools ships an update every 2 months, DP every 61 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
