# Spirits Network vs Layer

The clearest difference is rating: Layer at 5.0 against Spirits Network's 4.0. Spirits Network's advantage is ratings volume (16 vs 2) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Layer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spirits Network has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Spirits Network ships an update every 9 days, Layer every 5 days. Both last shipped on September 27, 2026.
