# Simple Notes vs Noble Notes

The clearest difference is monetization model: Simple Notes at free with in-app purchases against Noble Notes's subscription. Simple Notes also leads on update cadence (every 3 months vs every 16 months) and ratings volume (791 vs 3). Noble Notes's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Noble Notes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Noble Notes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Notes has 791 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 87% of Simple Notes's written reviews are positive against 100% of Noble Notes's.

Simple Notes ships an update every 3 months, Noble Notes every 16 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
