# Simple Notes vs My Notes

The clearest difference is update cadence: My Notes at every 11 days against Simple Notes's every 3 months. My Notes also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Simple Notes's advantage is ratings volume (790 vs 4). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and My Notes sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

My Notes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Notes has 790 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of Simple Notes's written reviews are positive against 80% of My Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Simple Notes ships an update every 3 months, My Notes every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
