# TrendConnect vs Black Hat Events

The clearest difference is rating: Black Hat Events at 4.2 against TrendConnect's 3.0. Black Hat Events also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (144 vs 4). TrendConnect's advantage is review sentiment (43% vs 24%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Black Hat Events holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Black Hat Events has 144 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of TrendConnect's written reviews are positive against 24% of Black Hat Events's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TrendConnect ships an update every 2 months, Black Hat Events weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
