# Electrify America vs Ampaway

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Ampaway at 67% against Electrify America's 9%. Ampaway also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Electrify America's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (27K vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Electrify America holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Electrify America has 27K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Electrify America's written reviews are positive against 67% of Ampaway's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Electrify America ships an update monthly, Ampaway every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
