# Melon VPN vs Cool VPN Pro

The clearest difference is ads: Melon VPN at none against Cool VPN Pro's shown. Melon VPN also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Cool VPN Pro's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (42K vs 5.7K). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Melon VPN sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Cool VPN Pro sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cool VPN Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cool VPN Pro has 42K ratings behind it against 5.7K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 76% and 76% positive.

Melon VPN ships an update weekly, Cool VPN Pro every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
