# Hippo vs Vox.md

The clearest difference is update cadence: Vox.md at every 4 days against Hippo's monthly. Vox.md also leads on rating (3.3 vs 3.0). Hippo's advantage is review sentiment (63% vs 50%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hippo sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Vox.md sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Vox.md holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Hippo's written reviews are positive against 50% of Vox.md's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hippo ships an update monthly, Vox.md every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
