# Re vs Croissant

Re and Croissant both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Re's written reviews are positive against 62% of Croissant's. Re also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.4). Croissant's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (561 vs 9). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Re holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Croissant has 561 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Re's written reviews are positive against 62% of Croissant's.

Re ships an update every 2 months, Croissant every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
