# Shell Racing vs CarbonRC

The clearest difference is rating: Shell Racing at 4.7 against CarbonRC's 3.7. Shell Racing also leads on ratings volume (556 vs 3). CarbonRC's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 56%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Shell Racing holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shell Racing has 556 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Shell Racing's written reviews are positive against 75% of CarbonRC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Shell Racing ships an update every 3 weeks, CarbonRC monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
