# Swamcam vs Aiper

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Aiper at none against Swamcam's 2. Aiper also leads on rating (4.1 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (267 vs 10). Swamcam's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and review sentiment (63% vs 47%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Swamcam sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Aiper asks for nothing beyond the download.

Aiper holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aiper has 267 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Swamcam's written reviews are positive against 47% of Aiper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Swamcam ships an update weekly, Aiper every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
