# Jazz Live vs BalletActive

The clearest difference is monetization model: BalletActive at free with in-app purchases against Jazz Live's subscription. BalletActive also leads on review sentiment (93% vs 68%). Jazz Live's advantage is ratings volume (46 vs 5). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Jazz Live sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and BalletActive sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for Jazz Live against 4.2 for BalletActive. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Jazz Live has 46 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 68% of Jazz Live's written reviews are positive against 93% of BalletActive's.

Jazz Live ships an update every 2 months, BalletActive every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
