# Keep Receipt vs Receipt Scanner

The clearest difference is update cadence: Receipt Scanner at every 3 days against Keep Receipt's monthly. Receipt Scanner also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). Keep Receipt's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Keep Receipt sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Receipt Scanner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Receipt Scanner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Keep Receipt has 1.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Keep Receipt ships an update monthly, Receipt Scanner every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
