# Keep Receipt vs Receipt Scanner

The clearest difference is monetization model: Keep Receipt at free against Receipt Scanner's subscription. Keep Receipt also leads on ratings volume (1.5K vs 4). Receipt Scanner's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Keep Receipt sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Receipt Scanner sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Keep Receipt against 4.8 for Receipt Scanner. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Keep Receipt has 1.5K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Keep Receipt ships an update monthly, Receipt Scanner every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
