# MX Player vs Evervideo

The clearest difference is ratings volume: MX Player at 4.3K against Evervideo's 53. MX Player also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MX Player sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Evervideo sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for MX Player against 4.6 for Evervideo. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MX Player has 4.3K ratings behind it against 53, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 34% of MX Player's written reviews are positive against 38% of Evervideo's.

MX Player ships an update monthly, Evervideo every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
