# JoyTrip vs OpenRock

The clearest difference is rating: OpenRock at 3.0 against JoyTrip's 2.2. OpenRock also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). JoyTrip's advantage is ratings volume (46 vs 2) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

OpenRock holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: JoyTrip has 46 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

JoyTrip ships an update every 3 months, OpenRock every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
